 | Specifically
regarding ethics, Dr. Gaston was an elected member of a licensing board in
1993-1994, and has served on the research ethics committee at the Department
of Psychiatry at McGill University in 1992. Since 1991, Dr. Gaston has been
teaching ethics to practitioners in training at her specialized clinic.
None of the over 3,000 patients has filed a complaint at the licensing board
against any of those practitioners, including herself, while most presented
with trauma and personality disorders. Dr. Gaston approaches ethics issues
with an interesting and positive attitude, believing that an intricate
knowledge of ethics codes helps structure treatment and treatment setting in
a way which is conducive to enhance benefits to patients and practitioners.
