TRAUMATYS provides :Psychotherapy services to individuals who have experienced, witnessed, or been confronted by a traumatic event, such as an assault, a hold-up, a rape, incest, an accident, death of a loved one, suicide of a closed one, a life-threatening illness, a death threat, etc. FREE evaluations and psychotherapy services are provided to individuals who are likely to be compensated, as determined by TRAUMATYS (see details below).
Psychotherapy services are provided by experienced clinicians who have been extensively trained by Dr. Louise Gaston, Ph.D., founder and director of TRAUMATYS, during a 2-year training program based on the educational curriculum of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Psychotherapy services are provided throughout the province of Quebec; i.e., Montreal, the South Shore, Laval, the Eastern Townships, the Laurentians, Quebec City, Joliette, Sherbrooke, and Chicoutimi. Psychotherapy is provided in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian to adults, adolescents, and children. Services are paid by the "Commission de la santé et sécurité au travail (CSST)", "Indemnisation aux victimes d'actes criminels (IVAC)", "Société d'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ)", private insurance companies, and individuals. It is to be noted that the 1-year delay announced by IVAC cannot be enforced if : (1) you have become aware of the psychological problems associated with the crime only within 1 year prior to applying at IVAC ; and (2) the crime was committed after 1972. FREE evaluations are provided to individuals who are likely to be compensated by CSST, IVAC, and SAAQ, as determined by TRAUMATYS. At the initial phone call, individuals are informed about the procedures to follow to obtain compensation, whenever applicable, and an evaluation session is likely to be scheduled usually within 1 week. FREE psychotherapy is provided to individuals who are likely to be compensated by CSST, IVAC, or SAAQ, and before they are accepted for compensation, thus preventing any delay in the provision of necessary services. You can reach us at (514) 272-3326 or 1-888-272-1896.
